Huy's HomeTurf!!!@Home Media, Inc. to End Updates to Huy's HomeTurf!!!@Home Newsfeed Blog at 10,000 Posts January 26, 2012 Huy's HomeTurf!!!@Home Media, Inc. announced on January 25, 2012 that it will eventually cease to update its somewhat-popular Huy's HomeTurf!!!@Home Newsfeed blog. When the idea for such a blog began in 2007, the interests of our website were very narrow and limited to topics such as events in and around Saskatoon and/or Calgary, technology and weird occurrences, such as high school students throwing a "kegger" party, only to serve root beer. However, since that time, a lot of interesting events have occurred, including the takedown of dictatorial regimes, the potential for a coalition government in 2008 in Canada, the election of a majority Conservative government in Canada for the first time since 1988, the loss of Blockbuster Canada Co., the voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition filed by Blockbuster Inc. in 2010, the end of wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the announcement of an eventual end to the Zellers business, and much more during the last five years. It has been more than five years since Huy's HomeTurf!!!@Home made its first Newsfeed blog post on January 16, 2007. Since that time, the blog has expanded from one post to 7,000 posts covering a wide range of topics that it has always believed would be of interest to its readers, such as politics, technology, local news, weird news, romantic stories, as per our personal opinion(s). Since that time, its personnel and contributing team has dramatically changed as well. With a rapidly expanding news world, and with more news being reported than ever, as it seems, Huy's HomeTurf!!!@Home is under the belief that it will soon become impossible to keep up with the news, let alone "recycle" it with the opinion(s) of the writer(s)/contributors(s) to the Newsfeed blog. As such, the website will be ceasing updates to the blog within the next two years. At this time, no set date or quota has been set in terms of a complete shutdown or discontinuance of updates. The decision to do so is based on personal reflection of all contributing members of the Huy's HomeTurf!!!@Home website. When the Huy's HomeTurf!!!@Home website launched its Newsfeed blog in 2007, the original intention was to "recycle" the news, while making fun of those reading it. Eventually, it became more and more difficult to do so, and it was no longer feasible to add personal opinion(s) to the mix. The process became time-consuming, and is no longer considered "fun" to continue updating the blog. This decision will also allow members of the Huy's HomeTurf!!!@Home website to spend more time with their friends and/or family by affording them with more time to oversee their personal affair(s). In addition, the use of social media websites (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, MySpace, etc.) makes entire websites such as that of Huy's HomeTurf!!!@Home seem obsolete. This has shown, as visitors to this website become more virtually non-existent year after year. For the Huy's HomeTurf!!!@Home website, unique visitors to the website has dropped dramatically year after year since 2006, when the number of visitors to the website reached its peak. Huy's HomeTurf!!!@Home has decided that it will cease to update the Huy's HomeTurf!!!@Home Newsfeed blog once it reaches the mark of 10,000 posts. Huy's HomeTurf!!!@Home estimates that the blog will reach this milestone within two (2) year(s). Although very few users will be surprised by this development, Huy's HomeTurf!!!@Home believes that it is important to inform those few users of the impending shutdown to avoid any "nasty surprises" that may occur, although Huy's HomeTurf!!!@Home does not believe any shall occur. Huy's HomeTurf!!!@Home anticipates that the blog will eventually cease to exist within six (6) months, once the updates officially come to an end. Huy's HomeTurf!!!@Home would like to take this opportunity to thank its users for their understanding, if there are any remaining users. An original feed of the blog will become available to users beyond request, once the shutdown of the Newsfeed blog occurs. However, Huy's HomeTurf!!!@Home does not anticipate any requests whatsoever. Over the last 12 years, the website has grown from a personal website to a network of nonsensical content ranging from technology to politics.
